Human mind is a very amenable entity. We create our lives by imagining our boundaries. We set our own limitations and we ourselves decide what we can and cannot achieve. Have you ever wondered how many times you have stopped yourself from being and living your authentic self? Creating limitations is something we do subconsciously.
When a child is growing in an overly protective environment, all he hears throughout his day is what he cannot do. If he does something that is not allowed, he might not receive what he wants or he might be punished in some way. So there is also an attractive alternative for not doing or trying something new that he might benefit from. Here develops the seed of “what if something goes wrong or someone says wrong to me”. In terms of work and personal life, this is how on most occasions we don’t attempt things that we could have done rather easily just because a limiting thought of “what if” showed up.
Yoga helps one not only to understand themselves but also overcome their limitations through each Asana or Kriya. All we are trying to do is stretch to the next level and break boundaries. Our attitude towards life should be to try a little more than what we thought was the maximum limit. Limiting thoughts of others around you especially those who have always been in a position to guide you might fog your own decision making and create boundaries for yourself.
“How will you manage” ? “I don’t know if you can” ‘Who do you think you are? ” “Don’t exaggerate your expectations. ” These are a few of many statements that you might hear day in & day out especially from people who might not see your full potential. Believing in yourself and your strengths is the best way to respect yourself. Bring the best foot forward to bloom just like a flower that has something very unique to offer to the world without comparison or duplication.
Think again, what stops you? Is the limitation real or a thought that is holding you back?
