A MEETING WITH YOURSELF

In a hustling and bustling city like London, for many of us, there will always be another meeting, a new venture, an unfinished project and a due presentation waiting to be attended to. We are all trying our best to keep up to our everyday responsibilities and our family commitments. In doing so, we often forget to pause and meet ourselves.

“What is the shortest route to meeting myself? Does it require a google map or perhaps a travel plan? How do I reach there to meet this person within me?” Were the questions asked by a naïve, curious mind.  “All it needs is a minute of barring your senses and conscious breathing.” Answered the consciousness.

“Ah! I see! It must be really expensive because you need to be in a certain calm environment and with the Gurus and Yogis to do this extremely complicated regimen” Further guessed the mind. “No, that is not needed at all! You can meet and greet yourself in your daily routine within your normal environment. All you need is a minute to yourself.” Calmly replied the consciousness.

“All you need is just a few undisturbed moments of silence in your office desk, your kitchen or your living room. Just about anywhere!  When blurred by a heap of emotions, close your eyes, close your fists and inhale deeply allowing yourself to observe the route of breath without any other activity like counting. Just observe your breath passing your throat and lungs producing a hushing sound of air.  Hold your breath until comfortable and observe the emptiness that comes with holding the breath. Observe the stability that holding your breath brings to your chest area and your body. Now release with a hushing sea sound in your throat. Repeat this cycle for about three to five times and open your eyes.”

an anxious nervous state to a calm and stable state of mind within a few seconds. This activity can be done as many times as you like in between your high demanding work schedule to improve your focus, productivity, efficiency and mental stability. Apparently, the actions taken with a stable mind are more productive, far sighted and better planned for future.”

“So, when are you planning a rendezvous with yourself”? Asks the consciousness

“Hopefully today, in the next hour”! Answers the mind
